Sheltered Housing Schemes

Sheltered housing schemes offer accommodation to vulnerable adults and families, the elderly and other groups who can benefit from a degree of residential support. Housing schemes are often heated via communal boiler rooms, and are therefore well-suited to low carbon heating technologies such as micro-CHP and air source heat pumps. At larger sites with suitable vehicle access, wood pellet boilers can be used as the main heat source.

ESP have completed feasibility studies and designs for a number of low carbon heating projects for sheltered housing schemes in North East England, including both new build and retro-fits.
